The transition to a net zero economy is well underway, and it's powered by major transmission infrastructure programmes right here in the Hunter region. The Net Zero Economy Authority (NZEA), in collaboration with the Industry Capability Network (ICN), is creating a vital resource ‘the Hunter Transmission Infrastructure Supplier Showcase’ and they need your business to be included!
This is your direct pathway to connect with opportunities arising from the Hunter-Central Coast, Central West-Orana, and New England Renewable Energy Zones (REZs).
A Strategic Guide to Project Opportunities
This Showcase is more than just a list; it's a strategic guide designed to help local firms seize project opportunities. The resulting document will profile capable local suppliers and be published on the Authority’s website, ensuring it is shared widely across industry and government, including with project proponents like EnergyCo.
The goal is clear: to deliver a clear picture of the capability and capacity of local industry to meet the demands of major transmission projects.
Who Should Apply? (The 10-Minute Opportunity!)
If your business is based in the Hunter and meets these essential criteria, you must complete the survey:
Criteria:
More than five employees.
Can take on projects over $1 million
Has demonstrable or potential capability aligned to defined packages of work.
🛠️ Does Your Business Fit the Profile?
The Showcase is looking to profile local Hunter businesses that currently work, or could potentially pivot to work, in the following critical areas:
Planning & Site Preparation: Services related to the initial stages of transmission projects.
Transmission Towers: Manufacturing, installation, and/or ongoing maintenance of transmission towers.
Electrical Balance of Plant: Manufacturing, installation, and/or ongoing maintenance of electrical components, including but not limited to cabling and wiring, substations, and transformers.
This project will profile businesses already engaged in the supply chain, as well as those with the potential to pivot into this sector. By mapping suppliers across these categories, the Authority will identify areas of strength and highlight capability gaps that may require future development support.
