The Hunter region has a powerhouse of talent and groundbreaking ideas—and it’s time to secure the funding needed to turn those ideas into market realities. We are excited to announce that the highly competitive NSW Government MVP Ventures Program is about to open its second round for the 2025-26 financial year, and we are strongly encouraging our entire local ecosystem to apply.
This program is specifically designed to help early-stage businesses in NSW accelerate the commercialisation of their innovative products, ensuring our best ideas stay and grow right here in the state.
What is the MVP Ventures Program?
The MVP Ventures Program provides matched funding grants to support the development and commercialisation pathway of innovative products, services, or processes. It is aimed at businesses that are past the proof-of-concept stage (Technology Readiness Levels 3-9) and need a financial boost to reach the pre-market or market entry phase.
The Hunter Advantage: Accessing up to $75,000
This is where the program is uniquely valuable for the Hunter iF community.
The MVP Ventures Program offers two streams, and because the Hunter region qualifies as regionally headquartered and operated, your business may be eligible for Stream 2 funding:
Maximum Grant: Up to $75,000 (Stream 2)
Co-contribution: Up to 75% of your total eligible project expenditure is covered by the grant (meaning only a 25% co-contribution is required from your business).
This increased funding limit and reduced co-contribution percentage is a fantastic opportunity to inject significant capital into your product's development and accelerate your path to market.
Quick Eligibility Check
To be eligible for the program, your business must generally meet the following criteria:
Be headquartered in NSW.
Hold the Intellectual Property (IP) or rights to commercialise the product.
Be a company incorporated in Australia.
Have an aggregated turnover of $400,000 or less in each of the last three financial years.
Have 10 or fewer Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) employees (including founders).
