This marks a remarkable "hat-trick" for the company. For three consecutive years, women leaders from MCi Carbon have taken home this global honour, with Amir Zadeh following in the footsteps of Principal Process Engineer Annie Cote (COP28) and Co-founder Sophia Hamblin Wang (COP29).
“This recognition reflects not only my personal journey but also the incredible teamwork, creativity, and dedication of everyone at MCi Carbon. Together, we’re turning bold ideas into real climate solutions.” — Zhila Amir Zadeh
Innovation in the Hunter While the awards took place in Brazil, the real work is happening right here in Newcastle. At the conference, the company announced the opening of Myrtle, their new industrial demonstration plant.
Myrtle is set to transform the industry by:
Capturing CO₂ and mineral residues.
Converting them into stable carbonates and silicates.
Creating low-carbon inputs for concrete, plasterboard, and paper.
With over 50 staff across the Hunter and Mid North Coast, MCi Carbon is proving that regional Australia is at the forefront of the global net-zero transition.
