About

Vu Tran is a Queensland-based tech founder and entrepreneur, known for his uniquely grounded and purpose-driven approach. Also general practitioner by training, Vu co-founded Go1, Australia’s edtech unicorn born out of Logan, alongside his high school friends. Despite his ventures into tech and business, Vu continues to practice medicine, maintaining a direct connection to the community he serves.

He sits on the boards of Metro South Health which stands as one of Australia’s largest public health services as well as PeopleIN, the country’s largest ASX-listed talent and recruitment provider. Vu also supports the next generation of innovators as Entrepreneur-in-Residence at UQ’s Momentum accelerator and as a mentor at UNSW’s Defence Tech accelerator and LuminaX Health.

In recent years, Vu has turned his focus to defence technology. He co-founded Black Sky Industries, a rapidly growing company building sovereign rocket motor manufacturing capability in Queensland. Black Sky is committed to developing Australian-made guided weapons and lethality systems, pushing into one of the most strategically critical and technically challenging areas of defence and aerospace. Vu’s work bridges medicine, national security, and entrepreneurship and has always approached his work with a fiercely local spirit and a mission to build things that matter.
